Texas Christian Homeschool Prom Is...

Students in the Mad Hatter Tea Room

A Non-Profit Organization

TxCHP, Inc. was created to serve the homeschooling community of the greater Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area and beyond. This service includes hosting an annual high school prom for homeschooled students and their guests, instruction in dance and etiquette, activities integrated with the theme to enhance the experience, and family service to the organization.

This organization exists to serve. Any costs associated with attendance at events or activities are invested back into the organization and used to pay the vendors that provide venues and support for the events.

Rich in History -

Serving the DFW Metroplex and Beyond!

After a couple of homeschooling moms decided to bless their kids with a prom in the year 2000, the idea took off and Christian Homeschool Prom became a real thing! After that team’s leadership decided to retire together in 2010, they engaged a new group of ladies to build a brand new non-profit organization, and Texas Christian Homeschool Prom was officially recognized as a 501(c)3 in Texas, beginning with the 2011 prom.

From its humble beginnings to today, students come from all around DFW, many other parts of Texas, nearby states, and even states as far away as Illinois, Oregon, California, and New Jersey. There have even been prom attendees who flew in from other countries after moving away or while serving on the mission field with their families.

More than just dinner and dancing -

it's an event like no other!

A formal three-course plated and served dinner, followed by a full evening of dancing are only SOME of the incredible parts of attending TxCHP. From themed activities to entertainment to games and prizes and specialty souvenirs, there is definitely something for everyone!

Once a theme is developed for each year’s prom, the teams start working on building sets to rival a theme park, complete with interactive activities and games, as well as performances by musical or dramatic guest performers.

There is always a quiet room space to get away from the noisy ballroom and enjoy a game of chess, UNO, spades, or one of the other games available, with coffee, tea, and water also served in that room.

Beyond a typical prom!

Why, yes, we even decorate the restrooms! Everything is organized according to theme, and this is no exception! You’ll also find breath mints, spray deodorant, specialty soaps, and other toiletry necessities to keep your prom night running smoothly! In the larger ladies room, with a lounge space, there is also a hairdresser to make sure no hair emergencies go unfixed. You can also make use of the seamstress room if a wardrobe malfunction occurs. We don’t want anyone’s evening to have a mishap that keeps you from being able to enjoy the event!

From restrooms to ballroom to every single inch of foyer space, prom attendees will find themed activities, food, beverages, and souvenirs, plus non-stop dancing following dinner service. The time you spend at TxCHP will be like none other you’ve ever experienced. Even if you have attended one of our previous proms, you’ll see that each year outshines the previous one!

Always Looking Into the Future.

You won’t have to look too far into the future to find a place to fit into TxCHP. There are a variety of ways to serve this incredible organization. Some families choose to fulfill the basic requirement – the Family Service Credit. Other families take on small leadership roles – like skippers who arrive and serve on prom night under the leadership of their team’s circle leader. Some serve as Circle Leaders, reporting directly to the Mission Leaders, the TxCHP Board of Directors.

If you like to serve and want to learn more about how an event like the Texas Christian Homeschool Prom is brought to life each year, watch your email each fall for information about family registration, how to get involved, and when ticket sales begin. You can always come to one of the Parent Information Meetings to connect directly with Circle Leaders and Board Members.
