Swing Dance Contest

Don’t miss this fun opportunity to showcase those amazing moves and possibly win cool prizes and coveted bragging rights! You and your partner may register on the night of prom at the Information Booth to get your number for the contest. Be READY to dance by 9:55pm at the side of the ballroom stage. The dance contest begins at 10:00pm sharp!
Each night’s contest has the following prizes for winning couples:
1st place = $100 per partner
2nd place = $75 per partner
3rd place = $50 per partner
Prizes are awarded between 10:30pm and 11:00pm during prom
Contest Rules
- Traditional (male/female) couples only.
- Sign up DURING PROM at the Information Counter. Place the team number on the back of the gentleman’s garment.
- Arrive at the side of the ballroom stage by 9:55 pm! Don’t be late! If you make the finals, don’t disappear! You’ll need to dance again to win!
CLOTHING and LIFTS:
- You may bring alternate clothing for the contest, but must adhere to respective TxCHP Dress Code Policies. Alternate garments must be left in the seamstress room & clothing shall be changed in the dressing room there. All changes of clothing must also meet the dress code requirements.
- Girls, please wear biking shorts or something similar under your skirt.
- Safety first! If you plan to compete in the swing dance contest, please view these videos that demonstrate acceptable and unacceptable aerials.
